These fixtures are subtle and can be directional and can be connected to dimmer switches to give a range of light from subtly dim to full brightness to illuminate an entire room.
Stacked Rock Lamp is a lamp that will get a lot of attention and we all know that a lamp don’t get to much attention. When someone is looking at the first time at the lamp will automatically wonder how the rocks can stay in that position.
The lamp uses LED technology which allows low electricity consumption. Electricity is transferred between the lamp and its base via magnetic induction with no visible connection. According to the designer “the ceramic material plays an important role by transporting the user back to a time of candle-holders and hand-lamps by means of its appearance and feel and primarily by the way it is held.”
The Fiat Lux Lamp has an integrated slot which definitely comes in handy to hold magazines and books for those who like to read something right before going to bed.
It seems even with the modern LED light technology designers just cannot let go of old designs. Good Night Eileen by Christine Birkhoven is based on the archaic hand-lamp which was used for illumination moving from one room to another at home in the dark.
